Ichida, Sōta

ICHIDA Sōta or ICHIDA Souta (1843-1896) was a Japanese portrait and landscape photographer. He opened a studio in Kyoto, Japan in 1868, but relocated to Kobe in 1870. Ichida retired in 1887, handing over the studio to his son. The studio was active well into the 1920s. See Terry Bennett, Photography in Japan 1853-1912 (North Clarendon: Tuttle, 2006).
