Path, pillar and houses

Notes

University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: DH-s053.  In the left hand bottom corner is David Marr Henderson's blind stamp (The initials DMH, motto: SOLA VIRTUS NOBILITAT, design of a hand holding a star below a crescent moon).  SOLA VIRTUS NOBILITAT translates as 'Virtue Alone Ennobles' or 'Virtue Alone is Noblity', which is the Clan Henderson motto.  This photograph may have been taken in Taiwan?  It appears to show a stone pillar, probably of some significance, as well as a large boulder on the left, and a sparsely wooden hill.
