'Uncle Herbert' = Herbert Wilcockson, who was born on 23 July 1850 at St Pancras, London, England, and married Susan Perry on 7 September 1872 in Islington, London. The couple had one child, Ethel Mary Wilcockson. Herbert Wilcockson was a silk inspector and head of the silk department at Arnhold, Karberg & Co., Shanghai. He died on 2 August 1918 in Surey, England.
