A pavilion sheltering three Boxer Uprising memorials, Taiyuan (太原市)

Notes

University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: LD01-119. A photograph marked up on the back for publication and captioned thereon in hard to read handwriting in pencil. This monument was outside the south gate of Taiyuan (太原市). The text on the memorial stone in the middle is in Chinese, whilst the other two are in another language. There is a Christian cross and, it seems, a Cardinal's hat, at the top of the memorial on the left. This monument was also photographed by Édouard Chavannes, among others.
