This (cropped and perhaps flipped) portrait of Chiang Kai-shek (Jiang Jieshi) and his wife Soong Mei-ling was taken on the steps of the Jiangxi Grand Hotel, Nanchang. This building was key in the 1927 Nanchang Uprising. The building is now known as the ‘Site Memorial of August 1 Nanchang Uprising’ or ‘Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall’.
