The 'Lest we forget' corner, British Legation, Peking

'LEST WE FORGET' was inscribed on the wall inside the British Legation after the Boxer Uprising.  The phrase 'Lest we forget' was taken from the 1897 Rudyard Kipling poem, "Recessional".  See also BL-n041 and NA06-08.
