University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: BL04-73. In pencil on the back of the photograph: "Memorial Boxer Rebellion". The inscription on the monument is: "ERECTED BY THE OFFICERS 1ST CHINESE REGT. IN MEMORY OF THE OFFICERS N.C.O.s AND MEN OF THE REGIMENT WHO WERE KILLED WHEN SERVING WITH THE BRITISH CONTINGENT CHINA FIELD FORCE BETWEEN JUNE AND NOVEMBER 1900 / CAPTN. A.J. HILL / CAPTN. L.A.E.
