Louis de San, a Belgian diplomat, established an Asian gliding record on 25 April 1940, by flying for 4 hours and 44 minutes in a 'Rhônsperber' glider, owned by the Chinese Aeronautical Affairs Commission (航空委员会). This photograph shows him with a different aircraft at a different airfield. Photograph from the Kiki de Chaffoy collection.
