Ouei travelled on the Canadian Pacific passenger ship 'Duchess of Bedford', which departed from Greenock, Scotland on 22 August 1936, bound for Montreal, Canada. Gordon S.K. Ouei (born c.1908) is listed as an Attaché to the Chinese Embassy (Chinese Legation). Ian Morrison was also on board the 'Duchess of Bedford', listed as a missionary. Gordon S.K. Ouei was a son of Ouei Tze-King (Wei Zijing 魏子京), who was Consul-General for China in Australia 1917-1927.
