University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: PC-s059. This photograph shows United States naval personnel standing at the entrance gate of the Nankou Railway Hotel. This hotel was in Nankou, 25 miles from Beijing along the Peking-Kalgan Railway. The historic town of Nankou was a tourist destination for visitors, who were making their way to see the nearby Ming tombs and the stone figures of Shi-san-ling.
