Fiddament, taken during a round the world fact finding trip.  Caption in Fiddament's notebook: "Shanghai.  During "buzzing" after take-off 4/12/45".  On the left is the Russian Orthodox Mission Church.  The large building, centre left, is the Cathay Mansions.  The one on the right is Grosvenor Mansions.  The white building near the Cathay Mansions in the Cercle Sportif (French Club).  The main road running from the bottom right into the hazy distance is Avenue Joffre.  In the foreground is Park Ravinel.  In the distance is central Shanghai.  Photograph taken from Fiddament's Lancastrain (Royal Air Force Transport Command Avro Type 691 Lancastrian, serial number VM701), when 'buzzing' (flying low over) the city after take off.
