University of Bristol – Historical Photographs of China reference number: DH-s157. Light manufactured by Barbier and Bénard in Paris. The lens lantern was housed in an iron cabin during the day, and at night was hoisted through an aperture in the top of the cabin. Note on envelope containing three photographs: ‘3 photos of Port Arthur [...] Occulting light and W.I. Cabin – 1897’. See DH-s155 and DH-s156.
