University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Do01-62. Aftermath of execution of prisoners, including pirates, on either 17 April or 11 May 1891, at Kowloon, Hong Kong. Some of the pirates executed by the Chinese authorities on those occasions were the men who had seized the steamer 'Namoa' on 10 December 1890 as it steamed from Hong Kong.
