However this photo is reproduced on p.125 of 'The Face of China 1860-1912' by L. Carrington Goodrich and Nigel Cameron (Aperture 1978), and is captioned: 'Photographer unknown: On the road to Ku-shan, western China, c1860.' The photographer may have been Tung Hing.
