The building in the photograph may be the Chi Chuk Lam (紫竹林 'Zizhu lin' in Mandarin) Nunnery, founded in 1918 by Buddhist nuns ordained at the Po Lin Monastery (寶蓮禪寺), which had been established in Ngong Ping, on Lantau Island in 1906.
