Messrs Russell and Co., The Bund, Shanghai - during Duke of Connaught's visit

University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: BL01-04. The larger building is the premises of Messrs Russell and Company, No. 6 The Bund, Shanghai.  The Bund had been decorated to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Connaught to Shanghai in April 1890. The banner reads: "HE MOUNTS FROM HIGH TO HIGHER HONOURS STILL".
