Historical Photographs of China album reference: Hv30. Hua Shan album. Album containing photographs of Hua Mountain in eastern Shensi (eastern Shaanxi). Detail showing entrance with inscriptions, stairs, and metal cranes. Inscription: Inscription on lintel reads Tse-liu yu-ching (Jade Fertility Well). Inscriptions on the two boards at the entrance say only vegetarians and teetotallers may enter. On the door posts are two tablets which read: Wan-ku chen-yuan Kao Pai-ti and Hsi-feng yuan-chi ya Huang Ho. From of old the Yellow River rises in the land of the Great White God; here its waters are controlled by the spirit of West Peak.
