University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Sw29-158. Khaki cloth Kodak Negative Album, 12 cm x 9.5 cm. 187 negatives sized 1.5 inches x 1.25 inches -:- 40mm x 30mm. The album was later labelled P62/V. This bridge, which dates from the Ming dynasty, was submerged by the Three Gorges Reservoir. It was part of the ancient trackers' hauling path along the Wu Gorge. "Wu duo" translates as "no struggle". Hupeh-Szechuan road bridge, over a tributary of the Yangtze. Another image of this bridge is reproduced in 'Glimpses of the Yantze Gorges' by Cornell Plant (Kelly & Walsh, 1921) and captioned: "ON THE ROAD TO WUSAN - SHAN-MU-RANG BRIDGE".
