Guiliang 桂良, a Manchu, Huashana 花沙納 a Mongol, and He Guiqing 何桂清 had been sent to Shanghai to negotiate tariff rates. Photograph by William Jocelyn, taken at the British Consulate, Shanghai. A wood engraving of this image (flipped) was published in 1859 in Narrative of the Earl of Elgin's Mission to China and Japan by Laurence Oliphant, entitled 'Keiliang, First Imperial Commissioner'.
