University of Bristol – Historical Photographs of China reference number: WS01-001. Yang Hongsheng / Yang Hung-sheng (1886-1911). This image is reproduced by page 49 in China's Revolution 1911-1912 by Edwin J. Dingle (1912) and captioned: "A CAPTURED BOMB MAKER. One of those responsible for the premature outbreak of the revolution".  The image is also reproduced in A Pictorial History of the Republic of China, Volume 1 (1981), on page 112 and captioned: "Yang Hung-sheng, caught while delivering ammunitions, was executed along with Liu Fu-chi and Peng Chu-fen". See WS01-003.

Caption on mount
