(i.e. Heavenly Youth's Monastery). Tien-dong (Tiantong Si; The Temple or Monastery of the Heavenly Child; 天童寺), near Ningpo (Ningbo) is a famous Chan (Zen) Buddhist temple. The European man is Edward Charles MacIntosh Bowra (1841-1874). See Bo02-048.
