University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: NA30-141. 'Mr Combe' refers to G.A. Combe, Acting British Consul General in Kunming (formerly known as Yunnanfu). The University in the background (far left) is most probably Yunnan University (云南大学), founded in 1922-23 as a private institution called University of the Eastern Land.
