This photograph is reproduced in 'Letters from Hankow - The Chinese Revolution of 1911 - The Eye Witness Account of Laura Beckingsale' (Pomegranate Books, 2011), Fig. 14, and captioned: "This was taken on the first day of the battle when the Fleet destroyed a small village by shells.  Notice the small table on the embankment. It is very queer how they suspend hostilities when meal-times come round!".
