Hagger, F. Collection
F. Hagger was an Electrical Artificer in the (British) Royal Navy in the 1930s, serving on H.M.S. Medway on the China Station. We know little about him, beyond his name and his occupation as an electrical technician (a role involving the electrical maintenance of a ship's machinery, such as engines and generators). He was the owner and compiler of an album of photographs, inscribed at the front 'F. HAGGER. E.A.'. The well captioned photographs document the ship's trip out east and stopovers in Weihaiwei (Weihai), Hong Kong, Chefoo (Yantai) and Shanghai. Hagger bought some of these photographs on his travels; he and his shipmates may well have taken others. 257 images. HPC ref: FH01.
